Samantha Sethi is a multi-media artist working primarily in drawing, installation, sculpture, and video. Sethi received her MFA from American University where she explored concepts of ephemerality, entropy, human impact on the environment, mapping, and our experience of time. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC where she lived and worked until moving to Washington DC in 2013. She recently moved to Baltimore in August 2017 and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Creative Alliance.
Sethi has shown in NYC, LA, DC, Baltimore, and Berlin. Her work has appeared in several publications including Bmore Art, The Washington Post, Time Out New York, and Studio Visit Magazine. Last summer Sethi completed a post-graduate residency at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA and was recently awarded a solo exhibition at IA&A at Hillyer in Washington DC January 2019. Sethi’s latest project is a commissioned installation for Baltimore’s Light City 2018.
